Adopt
If you are ready to add a new four-legged member to your family, adoption is the best option. Often times our rescues just sort of fall into our laps, with no planning or forethought, but if you are actively searching for a new family member, take some time to think about the best fit for your lifestyle and what you have to offer. Adoption agencies can also help you find just the right fit. That being said, all dogs are individuals and can behave differently in different families and situations, so you really never know... But when you know, you know! |
Advocate
Stand up for the animals; they can't do it without you! Stay informed on the issues & pending legislation, get to know your representatives & don't be afraid to tell them when you see a change that needs to be made, work to pass legislation and ordinances to help protect animals in our community. |
Donate
Provide financial support or help raise money for a group or special event, sign up for monthly giving, make a one-time donation, sponsor a special-needs dog, look into an annuity, add a group as your beneficiary on retirement funds & life-insurance. Many groups also accept donations of goods to help with their operations or to sell at thrift shops they operate. |
Report Abuse/Neglect
Don't be afraid to speak up or file a report if you see animals that you think are being abused or neglected. For those in Clark County, WA you can even fill out an online report through here. Volunteer
Transport pets to appointments, become an adoption counselor, assist at pet showings and/or special events, help with promotional materials & administrative support, or even foster pets awaiting adoption. |
